Dave Aukett (Restorative Prisons Project Manager, Sodexo Justice) will be sharing his experiences of introducing restorative approaches in private prisons.
With a history of using restorative practices in a variety of settings, Dave has worked with Sodexo Justice for five years. HMP Peterborough were the first prison to implement a whole prison approach and now Dave supports the other four Sodexo Justice prisons on this journey. Sodexo Justice received the Restorative Service Quality Mark in 2018 and were awarded Restorative Organisation recognition from the Restorative Justice Council this year.
Dave will be joined by Lynsey Pooley (Restorative Prison Co-ordinator at HMP Peterborough) and Jim Simon (Chief Exec at the Restorative Justice Council).
The session will include discussion of:
using restorative approaches to resolve conflict between prisoners and between prisoners and staff
developing effective partnerships with restorative justice service providers to deliver restorative justice in the prison
resolving family issues and conflicts with Restorative Family meetings.
